» Interaction in journals is highly encouraged. Journals will tend to be the focus of the game. Please do not hesitate to make extensive threads.
» Stay Active - One journal entry at least a week
» We encourage RP threads as well! When posting rp threads in the main community, please use this format: WHO : WHEN : WHERE : SUMMARY : RATING : G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17. Lj-cut the sexy stuff, please.
» Good spelling and grammar are essential. This is, of course, subject to character. If you character would not have good grammar, or would not speak very eloquently, that is acceptable, but should be made evident in the application. You will not be accepted if your grammar and spelling are not up to scratch. In addition- No netspeak or emoticons in character. Feel free to use it (sparingly) in OOC. OOC is where the craziness ensues. And there is craziness.
» Journal entries may be hexed to different levels of privacy, and to individual people. Please read fully to make sure your character is able to read this entry.
» Both AIM logs and threads are accepted.
» For action logs, the actually RPGs, a 100 word minimum is now in place. One line posts and responses will not be acceptable here. You can not tell a story in one line. We want our game to be effective and efficient, please. The mods reserve the right to boot people from the game for frequent infringement of the rule. This being said, you will receive warning emails prior to removal.
» The Called Back IC community is for owls, threads, RP logs and posted announcements (i.e. from Dumbledore or posted in the Common Rooms.)
» Want to F-lock your journal? Go for it. However, all posts in all communities are to be left unlocked.
» Strike-outs are readable partly, bold ones are not.
» Purely OOC posts will not be tolerated in journals or threads - keep OOC in the OOC community please. Feel free to plot and talk freely there. We don't bite, and we're very friendly.
player related
» Mary Sues and Gary Stus are BAD. You will be warned if you character appears to be too perfect.
» Don't cause IC/OOC drama, if you please.
» Don't pressure people into plots or characters. If you're feeling trapped, talk to the person, and tell them honestly what's on your mind. If someone approaches you about an uncomfortable plot, don't be offended, and don't get defensive; It's the plot, not you. If talking to them isn't working, please talk to the mods and we can talk to them for you.
» Keep player knowledge and character knowledge separate, please. Your character is not all-knowing.
» Players must be sixteen or over. There is the potential for sexual content in threads and dialogue. If this is illegal for you to view in the place where you live, please don’t risk it. We will not be held accountable for your actions in joining the game. Sadisim and bloodiness will become more frequent as the game progresses.
» The Lexicon, here is our friend. It is helpful to look at it before applying.
» We are now accepting Original Characters so long as the player also has one, canon, active character. The application for the OC will be the same as the canon character, however, there may be communication between the applicant and the mods before a decision is made, to ensure character quality, and to keep out any and all Mary Sues.
» There is no character limit, but we ask that only 3 be major canon characters (all others must be minor characters or original characters), however, the mods reserve the right to not accept multiple characters from a single player if they feel it appropriate. If gross amounts of characters are being made and not utilized, the mods might choose to put up a time limit between characters.
>» PLEASE look at the PB page to see the rules regarding your PB choices.
>» A hiatus extending past five weeks without the mun providing a substitute player for their character will be removed from the game. This means an expressed, planned leave of absence; Not just a toodledeedoo where you bugger off for five weeks and don't say ought to the game. In those cases you will be kicked after 2 weeks.
plot related
» Communication with a mod is required in order to do anything that affects a large number of characters in a minor way, or a few characters in a major way.
»There will be elements of surprise in the Called Back Plot. There will be attacks, deaths, and surprises that won't be shared with everyone before they occur. That's what makes it fun. Do not be offended if you weren't told before hand.
romance/relationships
» Realistic, please. The majority of these characters are still children.
» We're slash/het/femme friendly, but relationships must be established realistically. This is very important for us. Remus and Sirius won't get together in a day, easy as you please. Severus and Lily aren’t OTP without development.
» No ships the first six weeks of a character. (Unless the character is already CANONLY married in this time period.) During the first six weeks, you must also actively pursue plot with characters outside of your ship-of-choice. This way, you can develop your character outside of ships.
» No (non-canon) pregnancies the first 3 months of a character. This way, you can develop your character outside of babiez.
» No shipping firsties. They're 11. Even if it's canon. They're still 11. Be aware of when you ship younger characters in general. Second and third year students wouldn't be OTP.
» These are wizards and witches. Especially those who are experienced in the art of lovemaking would probably not make stupid mistakes. n00bies to the world of physical pleasure may make a mistake or two, but the chances of them getting pregnant the first time they have sex are pretty low. A couple who has unprotected sex has a 70% chance of getting pregnant within the first YEAR. We are not saying that YOU should go out and have unprotected sex because the chances are so low - we're just saying that just because your characters do once or twice, it does not mean that they're going to get pregnant.
» There is a war on. Why would these people want children? Ask yourself what your character's motivation is for trying for a child before you ask us if they can get pregnant. We're not going to reject people flat out, but let's be realistic, okay?
